Is this a fount for a parlor or maybe a piano type lamp, the tapped hole in the base makes me think could be. The main point is what is the burner used in this fount, any help would be welcomed.

George: It's a product of Pittsburgh Brass Co in Allegheny City, Pa from the 1890's. There's an extensive chapter with lamp photos and illustrations on this firm in J W Courtier's book "Center-Draft Kerosene Lamps", pg 287. It's available for purchase online or can be found in many larger libraries. Yours could have been used as a floor lamp, stand lamp, or banquet lamp. This tank/burner design was only used a few years so replacement parts might be difficult to locate.
