Masthead lantern ID

I have a lantern that I am looking for some more info on. The only markings that I have found on it so far is on a small plate on the chimney that says "VSIMONSEN KIOBCNIIAVN." The letters are fairly clear so I think I have read them correctly. The glass is borken and I was hoping to find a replacement. I would like to know a little bit of history before I attemtpt to restore it. The finish is pretty well covered with a number of layers of spray paint. Thank you in advance for any info you can come up with.

Hi Mike,
The second word on the label is obviously Kobenhavn (the "o" has a slash through it) - Copenhagen, so your lamp is Danish or at least from a Danish boat.
V. Simonsen could be the name of the maker, the name of the boat, or the name of the ship's chandler who supplied it.
Sorry I can't help you any further.
Regards,
Trevor

Thank you for the info. I don't know if you got my other message direct to your e-mail. Do you have any ideas for finding a replacement lens? Are there reproduction parts for these? Is there a generic application or are the parts specific to each manufacturer?

Thank you for the interest. I will get the burner from my mother-in-law this weekend and will probably need you help identifying it as well.
