what type of strings are used on rain lamps

The strings on our rain lamp are brittle and breaking. We would like
to restring it but have had no luck finding parts. It has a pump in
the bottom that takes the oil to the top and it runs back across the
strings simulating rain drops. If someone could help I would really
apprieciate it.
Thanks

Hello Tracy, If you look at the top of this Question And Answer Page,
you will see that we are "liquid and gaseous fueled" researchers, and
any knowledge of things electrickeral is purely coincedental. While
your lamp uses some type of oil to make the "rain drops", it is not
fueled by oil but rather electricity. However I think you may be in
luck anyway, because I remember that there was some discussion of
these lamps awhile ago. If you go to the Question And Answer
Archives, (off the hot link on the main page) and then enter "Rain
Lamps" into the search box there, I'm sure that you will find some
information that will be of help to you.

Tracy- Common mono-filament fishing line is generally what was used
on your type of lamp. Obtain replacement line that is of the same
thickness as the line you are replacing.
