I just found a nice solar lamp with brass burner and coper font that
mounts on toa nice glass base. It came without the shade and chimney
and I wish to learn more about these and what they should look like
complete. Are there any publications available that might tell me
more about this make. Only marking on handle are Solar EM made in
usa. I have a few reference books but none mentions this one. The
glass base appears to be hand painted and the brass and copper parts
cleaned up well. Thank you for your
assistance.

If it is what I think it is, it would take a "regular" 3" chimney;
there may be an available tripod that could be adapted to fit the
burner gallery to hold a shade. The Miller "Solar" was a turn of the
century mass-market burner, rather like the P and A "Climax" in that
it was a big wick burner built with an adaptor so it could be used in
either a #2 or #3 collar, and was sold to many lamp makers. :: Fil
